So what's a fanlisting?
"A fanlisting is simply an online list of fans of a subject, such as a TV show,
actor, or musician, that is created by an individual and open for fans from
around the world to join. There are no costs, and the only requirements to join
a fanlisting are your name and country [as well as a valid contact e-mail address].
Fanlistings do not have to be large sites (although some are), they are just
a place where you can sign up with other fans. "
And who are Naked Raven?
The "ravens" are an Australian band creating "hand-made" music that's hard to
categorise. Pop, folk and, according to lead singer Janine, a little metal ;)
combined in emotional, yet never cheesy songs become something extraordinary;
skilfully brought to life by violine (Stephanie Lindner), cello (changing, atm
Ann-Christin Schwarz), guitar (changing, atm Ben Edgar), piano (Janine Maunder)
and countless exotic and not-so-unusual percussion instruments (James Richmond).
Particularly live, Naked Raven show their breathtaking ability to create atmosphere
without the help of electronic playthings (except for maybe the occasional distorter).
Janine's crystalline, expressive and extremely versatile voice merges effortlessly
with the instruments, just to soar all of a sudden, sending shivers down one's
Mostly Stephanie, but the other members of the band as well, occasionally take
over the role of background singers, and impressively so - wonderful harmonies
like everything else perfectly created with seeming effortlessness.
What's more, Naked Raven more than clearly show how much they respect one another
as musicians and friends. During instrumental parts, Janine steps quite literally
into the background, Stephanie - with closed eyes and a dreamy smile - seems
to completely submerge into her own serene little world when one of the others
is playing a solo or she's particularly liking a certain singing part, and James
generously hands out appreciative nods.
Be it radiant smiles or barely suppressed tears, Naked Raven touch the audience on a level, that can only be reached by a few.
